Brian Eno Urges Public Help to Send Together for Palestine Lullaby to UK Festive Top Spot.

A charity drive is aiming to launch a cultural melody to the peak of the festive singles chart. The campaign hopes to provide aid to communities in Gaza while also spotlighting Palestinian culture and creativity.

An Opportunity for Unity and an "Unlikely Coup"

Musician and artist Brian Eno, who features on the track, stated that the single 'Lullaby' represents a moment to show solidarity with Palestinians during the holidays. He remarked the potential for an unlikely festive coup.

“It would be fantastic if that came to pass, yes,” he stated. “I won't be completely disappointed if it doesn't manage to, festive releases are a category of their own.”

Defiant Message of Freedom and Dignity

Palestinian singer Nai Barghouti, who features in the version of a folk song called Yamma Mwel El Hawa, explained the piece's resilient spirit.

“It occupies a deeply meaningful spot for countless listeners,” Barghouti shared. “The message is that I would choose to perish with honor than spend my life without freedom. That is the core idea of the song; we desire to exist a dignified life that we deserve as Palestinians.”

Production History and Featured Artists

The track was produced following a solidarity show held in late summer. First conceived to be performed and recorded live, the piece was omitted from the lengthy event due to time constraints.

The impressive roster of musicians featured on Lullaby encompasses a range of acclaimed names from the music world. All were part of the benefit event, which reportedly raised a significant sum for relief efforts.

Creation and Launch

Lullaby was produced by a group of producers and composers. The song showcases a mix of the traditional Arabic lyrics with new English lyrics.

The group managing the campaign have emphasized that their objective is to collect the highest amount for a dedicated fund. These proceeds will be allocated to initiatives supporting Palestinians through an non-profit partner.

“We haven't set a specific target,” a figure said. “We aim for the maximum achievable. Of course, the higher the total, the greater the impact. It all goes out to those in need in Gaza.”

The context in the region was characterized as its widespread damage, with a huge proportion of property reportedly in ruins or severely impacted.

“Given that reality, a handful of millions won't make a massive dent. But I think the significant factor is primarily making this cause better known and showing that another narrative exists.”

The song is launching on Friday. Additionally, a complete film of the benefit event will be made ready to watch on a major video platform from mid-December.
