Renowned Star The actor Pat Finn, Famed For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Passes Away at Age 60.
US performer Finn, who was seen in popular programs including "Friends", "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has passed away at the age of 60.
The skilled improv artist succumbed at his home in LA on Monday having undergone cancer treatment from 2022 onward, as reported by media reports.
"Pat never met a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his loved ones shared in a statement.
They noted that he had "embraced life completely - with happiness and energy".
An Extensive Career on Screen
His debut TV appearance was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he played the titular character's brother.
He also had a regular part on "Murphy Brown" from 1995 to 1997.
He appeared as Joe Mayo in "Seinfeld" in the late 90s, portraying a party host who would assign tedious tasks to his guests.
During the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on several well-known programs, like:
- "King of Queens"
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
He was most recognized for his portrayal of Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons of the show over nearly a decade.
His work in movies are It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".
Off-Screen Life
Beyond his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a six-member improv team called Beer Shark Mice.
"He taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils over the years and it would be difficult to find someone who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.
Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, making those around him better and funnier. An excellent dad and person," he posted publicly.
Pat Finn is survived by his partner Donna, his children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
